Today I'm not feeling a designer!?

We have all been in time where you feel stuck! You can't think at nothing and all the sketches that you make don't satisfy you.

Well, creativity is not something that you can magically control, It's unpredictable as a wild animale that can't be tamed. You never know when the inspiration is going to come and why and you always have to be ready. Everything can make you click, can make you come to a revelation and it's such a satisfying moment when it comes.

So what can we do when we can't "CLICK" ?

I personally believe that creativity can't be forced, if you try to do so you're just going to get in trouble. There is different way to deal with this situation and I would like to share with you my way to do it.

First thing first, it's crucial where I am. I need to take out of my mind all the little distraction that I might have. For example if I'm thinking that I need to do laundry or send an email to a professor I would definetly do that before starting. Having the back of my mind clean from little distraction make me feel lighter and more relaxed.

Then I get rid of distraction as phone or television that just confuse me with superficial information.

If I have to just think and be creative I enjoy having either other people around me even if they are being loud, just becouse it gives me the feeling of somebody checking on me. Otherwise I use music just to keep me going and don't get bored.

If you need a quiete and calm enviroment I understand you but for me it just doesn't really work, for me the focus comes when I'm able to forget what is happening around me so having an intentional distraction helps me with that.

Then all you have to do is just sit down and start working, I know that it sounds silly but that's really the key. Just sit there with nothing else to do besides your work and slowly you'll get there.
